Every face carries a ring around its centre - and here is the twist: those rings stay put when you turn their own layer, behaving as if bandaged to the neighbouring faces instead.

That single rule change produces scrambles impossible on a normal 3x3 and forces entirely new solving intuition. Turning remains surprisingly good for a circle puzzle, though this is a thinking puzzler's cube, not a speedcube.
