As of today, there are 20 of 60 spots left, and registration closes at midnight on Saturday, 1 August. WCA competitions fill on a first-come basis and Rajshahi doesn't get one every month — if you've been meaning to enter your first competition, this is the weekend to stop meaning to.
Why we're sponsoring this one
Bangladesh's cubing scene has spent years being a group of people who practise alone and meet online. Competitions are what turn that into a community — they're where you find out that the person whose times you've been watching lives two districts away, and that they're just as nervous at the timer as you are.
Every WCA competition held here makes the next one easier to organise. Sponsoring Rajshahi Cube Open is the most direct way we know to put something back into a scene that built our shop in the first place.

The events
Five events on the schedule:
- 3x3x3 — the main event
- 2x2x2 — fast, chaotic, decided in under five seconds
- 4x4x4 — where parity decides your day
- 3x3x3 One-Handed — the crowd favourite
- Pyraminx — the most forgiving event on the list, and a genuinely good first competition event
You don't have to enter all five. Plenty of first-timers register for one or two, get a feel for the format, and come back for more next time.

First competition? Read this bit
Competing is different from solving at home, and almost everyone's first-round times are slower than their practice average. That's normal. A few things that help:
You'll be asked to judge and run. WCA competitions are staffed by the competitors. You'll spend part of the day sitting across the table from someone else's solve, holding a stopwatch. It's easy, someone will show you how, and it's the fastest way to meet people.
Bring your own puzzles. The venue provides the timers and mats; the cubes are yours. They need to be WCA-legal — no logos, stickers or markings that could help you identify pieces beyond the standard colour scheme.
Bring a backup. Pops and lockups happen. A second 3x3 in your bag costs you nothing and has saved a lot of averages.
Arrive early. Check-in, tutorial and the first round move faster than you expect. Getting there before the doors open is better than sprinting to your first solve.
Your times are permanent. Every result goes onto your WCA profile forever, including the bad ones. So does every PB. That's the deal, and it's what makes the whole thing worth doing.
What to bring
A short packing list, from people who have watched a lot of competitors forget one of these:
- Your main 3x3 — freshly cleaned, lubed a few days before, not the night before
- A backup 3x3
- Puzzles for every event you registered for
- Lube and a small screwdriver or tensioning tool for on-site adjustments
- Water and something to eat — competition days are long
- Your registration confirmation and ID
If your main is fighting you and you'd rather not spend the week before the competition breaking in a new one, get your order in early. We ship nationwide, and delivery to Rajshahi needs a few days of runway before the 7th.

Coming to watch?
You don't have to compete to show up. Competitions are open, loud, friendly events, and standing behind the barrier watching a 4x4 final is a decent way to spend a Friday. If you're on the fence about ever competing, going to watch one is the thing that usually settles it.
